Title: Mounting a NH-D14 with no mounting kit

Hi!

I bought a cheap NH-D14 on eBay and it came only with the Intel mounting kit (I knew that before buying it). But I need to mount it on a AM3+ socket (motherboard is an Asus 970 Pro Gaming Aura).

I looked for a AM3+ mounting kit on eBay, no luck. So I'm thinking of a zip-ties ghetto mounting solution, but since this cooler is pretty big, I'm not sure if that's a good idea...

Any other ideas?

but *censored*, that is one ugly, huge mother!  ;D


what's its weight?
if the case is used vertically, that's gotta put some strain on the mobo.

Yes, it's a standard vertical case. The radiator weights 1070g with the fan. The official mounting kit uses the stock plastic AM3 bracket from the motherboard, like I did with the Katana 2 mounting kit. So everything should be fine... I hope  ;)

The Noctua radiator is not screwed to the mounting bracket of the Katana 2, but the pressure keeps it in place.

I bought this beast to cool my Phenom II x6 1055T. I'm trying to overclock it to 4 GHz  8)  so the heat output will be pretty high.
