This individual found out that that not are credit cards are the same. If you wish to use your credit card with Pay Pal and eBay, you need to investigate a bit. You many find some transactions have to be done with your bank and not a credit card.  :o

I personally have found this to be true. I I live here in the USA d I would think there should not be any issue. But there is. The is something different about  credit cards that they do not clarify to the extent I would like. You find out when a transaction does not work. It would be nice if the told your before you try. :(

So, I an annoyed. But I will keep on using eBay and PayPal ant way.   :-\

It is still the same, Nothing has changed.
American Express is not the same as Visa.
I can not use it to pay anything I buy on credit on eBay.
Let me explain. One can pay immediately using the American Express. Butr one can not difer payment for several days and then pa.
Otherwise, one can buy and have PayPal extend  credit fr several days and then pay up using Visa.
So that is not a mere old rant, it is an example of a permanent everlasting  deliberate  web confusion on the part of PayPal and the American Express people. It is not i legal. Just void of morality.

Bu t if you want an up-to-date version, see here:

If you carry an American Express credit card, you probably already know the drill. Once you’re done shopping and ready to make a purchase, you approach the checkout counter at some random store. But instead of swiping your favorite AmEx card, you catch a peek of the one sign you didn’t want to see – “American Express not accepted.”

This is an unfortunate scenario, but it’s one that plays out time and time again. Due to high American Express merchant fees, many retailers cannot – or will not – accept American Express as payment. Keep reading to learn more about the way American Express operates, and how you can avoid a letdown at the register
And yes, years ago I did do business with credit cards. I was a mail order vendor, Long time ago. So I forgot about AMEX. We did Master Card.

Until my wife bought me one thinking I could use it on PayPal. Yves and No. It can be used only for immediate transactions. It took me a while to recall. I just did not think AMEX would still be using their old business model.

You can check to see if anything has changed. Google

How Much Does It Cost You to Accept American Express Cards?
Among the four major U.S. payment brands, American Express charges the highest credit card acceptance fees, by far. So much so that many retailers choose not to take AmEx cards at all, taking the risk of losing sales

Anyhow, I spend to much time on eBay.  8)
