Post by: Blerina on September 20, 2017, 10:28:54 AM
Hello
I'm new here and not very experienced with computer.s I have laptop Sony Vaio PCG-41414M. After some updates when ny computer restarted and after I insert the password I cannot log in.  A message pops saying
The User Profile Service failed to log on. User profile cannot be loaded.
Can anyone please help me solve this problem. Can I do something or should I go to a professional. Thank you

Sounds like you have a corrupted user profile.
When you log in (or try to) do you get the message "you have been logged in with a temporary user profile" or something similar?
If so, once logged in, go to Control Panel, User Accounts and create a new user.
Log off the current temporary one, log into your new one.
Go to Windows Explorer and you can now copy your old user Docs, Pics, Music etc from the old user to the new one.
That is, from C:\users\old name\ to C:\users\new name\

Blerina,
Did you already try this?

Follow these steps to use the Advanced Boot Options menu:
    Start (or restart) your computer.
Press F8 to invoke the Advanced Boot Options menu.
Select Repair Your Computer from the list (the first option).
Use the up and down arrows to navigate menu choices.

Do you have the Windows 7 install DVD for that PC?
Windows 7 has an option to repair the system using the DVD.
You have to boot directly from the DVD.

Hope that might be some help.    ;)

No I haven't tried that but can I do it even if I don't have the cd?

Yes. Windows 7, 8 and 10 have repair options that do not require the install DVD.
When this feature was first introduced, it was considered a major improvement.

Wiping your hard drive and performing a fresh installation can be a huge headache; but fortunately there's a way to repair a corrupt Windows 7 installation while keeping all your programs, personal data, and user accounts intact. With Windows 7 you can perform an in-place upgrade installation to repair a flaky existing install. Though technically designed to upgrade older Windows operating systems like Vista, the in-place upgrade installation option can also be used to repair an existing installation of Windows 7

Read the whole article for the details.

Details like "You'll need a Windows 7 installation disc that matches the version of Windows already installed on your system".

Sorry, did not see that.

Does this PC have a COA on it?
If so, she might download Windows 7 using another PC.

Thank you very much for your help. A friend of mine suggested me this link

I tried it and it worked. It has very few steps and easy to understand. :)
