I accidentally deleed some file named SIS something or other. anyway it appears to have had something to do with my video driver or something. i now only have 16 colors. i need to know what i need to do yo fix this. i got to add/remove hardware and try to troubleshoot the video controller and it says it cant find a driver. pls help thankyou
-
You can download the video driver(s) from the manufacturer's website or any number of other driver sites.
You will need to know the make and model of your video card. You can get this from your Video control panel or from your PC's Device Manager.
Simply Google for the URL of the website when you are ready. For example: NVIDIA xxxxx GEForce Drivers
Good luck!

Nope, sorry. Those are your video codecs.
Try this: right click anywhere on your desktop that's empty. Choose Properties>Settings>Advanced you should now see a tab with your video card listed (adapter).

Does Rollback Driver help you?
-
Choose Properties>Settings>Advanced you should now see a tab with your video card listed (adapter).
It says I Have a VGA adapter.
-
You will have to find the name of the specific SiS card or chip, then get the correct driver for it.
Guess you learned a lesson about deleting files though, eh?
-
yeah no crap.
can anyone go here and tell me if this would work.

the thing i deleted was SIS so i figure it was an SIS drive and this says it works on most back to 5 years old. should i try it?
-
No, do NOT do that. Download Everest Home Edition (available still at Major Geeks for free) and find out WHAT SiS adapter you have. The wrong thing is worse than nothing.
