Title: Game dev released a cracked copy of their game to catch people & teach a lesson
Post by: DaveLembke on December 12, 2017, 12:15:59 PM
Found this funny. Game devs for Game Dev Tycoon intentionally released a cracked version intentionally flawed to teach pirates a lesson. One moron pirate complained that his virtual games were being pirated within a pirated game and didnt realize the game devs were giving him a taste of his own medicine.

It was interesting that:
Quote
"The depressing results of its own game's day one piracy rates show that only 6.4% of people playing the game bought it legitimately."
