My PC has a lot of MP3 fiels and videos. Sometimes I would like to listen to my stuff while ssomewhere else in the huse. I don't have a bluetooth headset. Not yet.
I would rather have a portable speaker. 8)
So whill looking at reviews on the Google mini, I see a ad that says the Amazon Echo is more popular. Why?
Rather than sort through the ads, I am asking you people for an honest anser.
Shoul I go with the Amazon device or the Google thing?
Or many neither one?
Thanks in advance. :)

Both of those are "home assistant" type devices, their primary function isn't really to be used as a speaker. They can both play music from streaming services like Spotify however neither support playback of MP3s stored locally on a PC. If you want to play your MP3 collection without paying for a subscription streaming service and don't need the home assistant functionality you'd probably be better off loading the music onto a smartphone and then getting a simple bluetooth speaker to use with it.

Thank you both.
Now I have sometnhing to think about.
After giving it some thought, I might just wait awhile.
Or just use the bluetooth speaker I already have.
But it does not take commands. :-\

Cause yer askin them to do something they don't///you need to decide.

Well, what I would like is an inteligent device that would understand tha t I do not want to ever hear nay more Marty Robins songs.
Do they have something like that? A personal DJ in a can?
I don't have any Apple devices other than my old iPhone.
