I did not know that. The first CBS video is about an exploit Israel used to spy one an individual. Apple has closed the bug taht let the iphone be exposed to the spyware.

New revelations from Apple confirm what many iPhone users suspected: Apple slows down older iPhones. The reason? The lithium-ion batteries in aging devices can't keep up with peak demand for power. Apple says the batteries "may eventually need to be serviced or recycled." Anna Werner reports.

The fix is to replace the battery. The update to improve battery life slows down the iPhone. New battery is $79. No wonder usrs are mad.
