Title: Error Getting Win 7 SP1 64 bit Through Windows Update
Post by: Michael on January 06, 2018, 08:01:05 AM
When I try to get the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) through Windows Update, it fails with the error code 8024200D.

I've tried multiple troubleshooting suggestions but none works, including the Windows Update Troubleshooter and clean reboot.

Guessing this is a clean build of Windows 7 and your trying to patch to latest?  Was this Windows 7 installed from a download or original disc?

Why not download it manually?

Dave, it was an old laptop my sister-in-law gave me. I was actually trying to install the iTunes but it says I need SP1, which I then realized the Windows doesn't have SP1.

How do I check if it is a clean build, and if so, what should I do?

Salmon Trout, I have manually downloaded it from the Microsoft website, but it is an ISO image file. Should I burn it into a CD and execute it?

Yes.
