But not by much.
Computerworld made some comments about this on March 2, 2018..

Any comment? ;D

nearly 4% growth rate is great.
if my savings account and super could do that, I'd be a happy man. ;D

Mark, you are right on!
Apple revealed that there are now nearly 100 million active Mac users
Windows 10 is now four times as popular as the MAC
Of course, Apple sells mostly hardware, Microsoft sells mostly software. But in the end, Microsoft is doing very well ans Apple has to catch up.
Consider:
400 million machines are now running Windows 10
Not counting all the other windows versions...
- just the ones called Windows 10.
A 3 % growth means 12 million copies of Windows 10 is sold every year, if they keep up that 3% growth. The cost of distributing the software is very small when compared to hardware. Now if MS gets $30 for every copy sold to OEM, it is a lot of cash for a product that can be distributed for near zero cost.
Do the math. ;D
Here is another reference:
https://www.theverge.com/2016/9/26/13057980/microsoft-windows-10-400-million-devices
That is not news, it is two years old. So by now there could be 410million.
The windows phone is near dead, yet there are many other devices doing Windows 10. Every copy represents more cash into Microsoft.
Microsoft expects to hit its 1 billion devices target for Windows 10.
Soon. ;D

Windows 10 is four times as popular as the Media Access Control?
Or do you mean Mac?
In any case Microsoft probably got a big boost using their rather unethical funneling upgrade tactics which used intentionally poor designs to "trick" users into upgrading, like having the X button on a window act as confirm.

I was referring the Apple product. :-[
Windows 10 is now, and was, the most dominant OS for desktops
A reference from January this year:
https://www.windowslatest.com/2018/01/08/netmarketshare-windows-remains-dominant-os-apple-continues-gain-pc-market-share/
The above appears to show that all Windows versions are more than 11 times the Apple OS versions. 8)

Always has been...whats the point ? ?
The section is after all called news.

Well, this discussion seems to imply that Mac is the main competitor of Windows. But, a (relatively) new kid on the block seems to be garnering more attention: Chromebook shipments surge by 38 percent, cutting into Windows 10 PCs (https://www.pcworld.com/article/3194946/computers/chromebook-shipments-surge-by-38-percent-cutting-into-windows-10-pcs.html)

Some would argue that the real news is in the mobile market, not the desktop.
Here is a recent report that calls Android the out in front runner.

Android beats iOS in smartphone loyalty, study finds

But look closer. The data is already old by now. And that report does not really show what people are using, just something about loyalty, whatever that means.
