Hi, Can anyone please tell me if can use the Power to my ** LPT USB diagnostic Analyzer** (From my Desktop PC via the USB) Port.? reason I ask, is (My Laptop is Dead) and when I plug it in to my Laptop via the LPT USB Connections, on my Laptop, the ** LPT USB diagnostic Analyzer** doesn't light up, as its supposed to.?
So will it be Safe to take the Power from my Desktop USB to my Diagnostic Analyzer whilst testing my Laptop.?

Please give us some more detail.
Is this a new laptop? Out of warranty?
What happened just before you laptop stopped working?
Where did you get the "LPT USB diagnostic Analyzer" device?
Most of those devices are only effective the laptop can at least get to the first visible screen. But if the screen stays black, you are stuck.

As short as I can, my Laptop is a Dell Latitude D600.
I had a New Mini Wireless Card, To Replace the one in my Laptop, which wasn't giving me Wireless Connection.
So I Proceeded to do the Fix, but the old one wouldn't Budge even whilst holding the Clips Outward.
After some advice online , I used my Needle Nosed Pliers to tug Gently, holding the Clips Outward, and out it came.!
I put New Mini Wireless Card in.
All was Well Up and Running.
A few days Later ,laptop Was dead
I tried the 30 second pressing start button etc, but it is still Dead, so I purchased LPT USB diagnostic analyser.
But that doesn't Function as it should no lights on when plugged into the Lpt and the Usb on my Laptop.
So my Question is could I put the USB into the slot on my Desktop Computer, for the Power the LPT USB diagnostic analyser needs.

No, it is not a question of getting power.
The laptop CPU has to be working to get instructions from the USB device.
I am quire sure the device you have is no a low-level logic analyzer.

Thank you again for your very good information.
I was lead to believe by sellers of this device works on a dead Laptop Pc etc.
I think it must be my Motherboard damaged, i was hoping to pinpoint it with the,Analyzer.

Hi Again, if you could just give your expert views on the Following.
I have checked my Battery and AC Charger, both are OK.
I tested the 5 indicator lights on the Back of Laptop where the Battery is located, they all come on, and if I press for 3 Seconds. they all go off, which indicates the Battery is 80% + to 100% Charged.
The Hinge Battery indicator, is not On.
Have you any ideas what this may Indicate.?

My best advice is to try using your laptop without the battery.

This confirms what is also said both here on other forums. You can run you laptop without the battery if the AC adapter is good.
In general, laptop batteries are a big pain in the aft. Often they are the main cause of trouble. Do not try to repair the battery. Bet a new one, if you really need it.
Where did yu get that thing that claims it can fix a dead laptop? Others would like to know more about who is making such a claim. :)

From a Google search, here is what Found.
"LPT USB diagnostic analyzer"
This search brought up one item found on eBay. Also, and item was found on the company called eCenter. Both items appear to be a type of POST analyzer.
You would plug the device into a 25 pin LPT port and a short cable into a USB port. The interface is really through the parallel port and the USB is only needed for power.
One model of this item fits into a standard PCI slot. In any case, this thing is not going to be able to test every desktop and laptop PC out there. For one thing, not too many computers now days have a 25 pin printer port. And most laptops to not have a PCI slot that you can use.

The model with a PCI goes for about $13. The other model does not have the PCI goes for about six dollars. This seems to be very odd. I think the cost of the parts needed to build such a device would be more than that. Sounds like it's something that was used years ago and somebody is trying to get rid of an overstock.
I am not going to buy one, even if it twas just $1 and free shipping. 8)
