Hi everyone,
I wanna buy an Antivirus for my new desktop. But idk which one should I choose.
My target is for desktop protection against any types of virus, internet protection and without choking my computer’s resources. Is there any suggestions from you guys? Thanks

If you have Windows 10 then you already have an AV built in called Windows Defender and you don't need anything else. If you have an older version of Windows then there are many free AV's that are just as good as the commercial versions. See below.
Remember to only install one antivirus!

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts. If you choose to install more than one antivirus program on your computer, then only one of them should be active in memory at a time.
I use MSE on all my computers and recommend it.

there are plenty of independent comparative AV test sites you can also visit to see real-world results in protection, removal and resource usage of all the major players.
I ditched Nortons years ago and have solely used Defender on all my PC's since then.
I'd personally put a cautionary word against using AVG or Avast (same company now).They have a lot of annoying pop-ups and phone home a lot of personal 'anonymous' details.

Looking for the best antivirus, is really tricky why?
1.Features
Every Antivirus has a different selling point, Some antivirus has internet protection included or some has VPN.
2.Brand
Every brand is well known too for its key feature that at some at point other antivirus brand just can't replicate or do justice.
3.Price
Price Well known antivirus offers from basic to Premium price point and of course, as the price goes up the features adds up.
If you're not really looking at for a free antivirus
For me this brands is great at doing their job of protecting and securing one's computer.

I recommend trying their free trial and scale them on what is more effective for you before deciding to purchase.

It mostly depends on the way you use your computer. If you just visit some trusted resources and work with offline documents the possibilities of built-in Microsoft Defender would be almost enough for you.
At the same time, if you conduct active web surfing or visit unknown sources, it would be better to have something more powerful. Another point that if you store important data or information you would need improved level of protection.
Most of the examples of antivirus software provide user with basic set, which is similar in most of the cases plus additional tools, so it is important to pay attention to the details and choose those which would fit best for your particular needs. Due to my personal needs I use free version of Avast, and it suits for my requirements. Some time ago I`ve used NOD32 and Kaspersky (it was my first one), both of them also were comfortable in use and I`ve found any substancial difference between their features.

Looks like basically everyone here has given you some good advice, here's my 2cents!
1. Use something you understand and get familiar with it.
2. Don't go to crazy/weirdo sites on the internet have some internet discipline/smarts.
3. Antivirus Software to some people is like a religion, they always have the right one. ;)

Not sure if it is the best but I'm very satisfied with the performance and features of ESET NOD32.
