As of yesterday, when I open an email, I get a page full of links. The email won't open to the page automatically. If I click on one of the links, the email
shows like it should.
I now have a triangle beside my email account the says "account settings out of date."
When I click on fix account I get a box with "Attention required." Please update password.
Not sure what to do.
Thank you for any help!

Just wondering, what email service / provider / app are you using? Just to be sure :)

Maybe it is time to try a new free e0mail account.
Some of the most popular are:
Gmail.com
Zoo Mail
Outlook.com
mail.com
Yahoo mail
ProtoMail
AOL Mail
iCloud
.. and many others. Here is a link:

You can also buy yourself a vanity e-mail server for a modest price.
A domain vendor like www.Godaddy.com (http://www.Godaddy.com) can set up up a name and a site on their servers. They will talk to over the phone and take your money. ;)

Account settings has been solved.
The problem I still have is a page full of links to click on.
When I pick a link to click the email will open as it should.
I believe I'm using outlook.

I am using outlook. I mentioned a message account out of date. I solved that.
The only problem I am having is the email messages I open are all links.
Looks like someone wrote a long letter.
The email does not open normally.
