Title: sticky notes location Windows 8
Post by: bob1286 on January 20, 2019, 07:40:57 AM
I'm attempting to do a recovery on two different machines attached to drive to another unit running Windows and moving the files across the network to a blank Drive but before I can format the drive I need to locate the necessary sticky files that I had created on the desktop which I cannot locate where the root file is where they're kept I'm Google then been finding that it tells you where the file is if you're running Windows on that unit however I am attempting a recovery so I cannot access the drive directly

Have you looked here? On the attached drive should be a folder whose path begins with the drive letter assigned to the drive (I use X: here but you must change that)

X:\Users\logon\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes

logon being the user name you used to log on the machine that the drive was formerly used on (as the system drive).

In that folder should be a file called StickyNotes.snt
