Hi Folks
My desktop runs on Windows 7 Home Edition. It has been working perfectly until last week. When I start it up, the screen fills up with messages and various characters and the last line says 'Press F1 to load default values and continue'.
After pressing F1 another message appears saying 'launch startup repair (recommended)'. When I click on that, another message appears stating 'Do you want to restore your computer using system restore', and it has 2 boxes at the bottom Restore and Cancel.
After clicking on Restore, another box appears stating 'Startup repair is checking your system for problems.' Eventually, it says 'Start up repair cannot repair this computer automatically' and gives 2 options of sending a report and not sending a report. When I click the 2nd option, the computer turns off'.
Could someone be kind enough to advice how I can resolve this issue?

Hello and welcome to Computer Hope Forum. My name is Dave. I will be helping you out with your particular problem on your computer.
1. I will be working on your Malware issues. This may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.

7. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
If you can't access the internet with your infected computer you will have to download and transfer any programs to the computer you're using now and transfer them to the infected computer with a CD-RW or a USB storage device. I prefer a CD because a storage device can get infected. If you use a storage device hold the shift key down while inserting the USB storage device for about 10 secs. You will also have to transfer the logs you receive back to the good computer using the same method until we can get the computer back on-line.

Did you install any new programs prior to this happening? Did you make any changes to your computer prior to this event? Does it still do that every time you boot? Can you please give me a screenprint of any unusual events?
