Title: Question about Chrome/Microsoft
Post by: jbubb on March 31, 2019, 10:50:18 AM
I made a change on my PC (windows 10) which changed more things than I expected. Anyway, I opened Chrome back up and there was a message from Microsoft saying they had found some trojan/worm (plural) and that it had caused 28.1% damage. I've never seen Microsoft send a message like this before and was apprehensive about running the cleaner they suggested. I'm going to be busy today but thought I'd throw this out there to see what I should do to get this rolling.

Microsoft did NOT send that notification to you, nor do they recommend software other than their own (Defender).

Thanks, that's what I thought as well. I uninstalled chrome before I posted here, reinstalled it and the same thing appeared. I was thinking that it would cure it but it didn't, quite a puzzling thing.

I uninstalled Chrome, ran my anti-virus and malware, downloaded Chrome and installed it again and everything seems alright now. Anything else I need to run? Malwarebytes found several things and I have real-time McAfee.
