Title: desktop shortcut to a website
Post by: Sebastian42 on July 02, 2019, 04:45:54 AM
easytechguides.com/website-shortcut.html gives three ways - each of which gives me a shortcut to a PRINT page instead. How can I succeed ?

If your trying to create a shortcut to launch edge browser to open a specific website you can create a shortcut and add the following path to it. Replacing the URL path with whatever site you want to launch.

start microsoft-edge:https://www.google.com

From the upper left in the title bar you can simply drag and drop the site to the desktop...

"create a shortcut and add the following path to it", so I typed "start microsoft-edge:https://www.google.com" into 'Type the location of the item:'
Upon clicking NEXT, the following error displayed : "The file start cannot be found."

Dragging from the address bar does create a shortcut, but when I open that, it is to a PRINT window - NOT to the website. So I need help.
