Title: Retrieving Data Sent to a Website
Post by: helamansanchez on November 08, 2019, 03:03:33 PM
Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, but here goes...

My question is this: Is it possible to use the stored data on my browser (cookies, etc.) to see the information that I have sent to a website?

I am using Firefox 70.0.1 (64-bit) on a Mac. I recently wrote a comment on a Wordpress website and attempted to submit it by clicking the "Post" button. Unfortunately, the website had for some reason screened my comment as potential spam. I have attached a screenshot of the page it gave me. It urged me to go back and check the details of my post to make sure everything was correct.

Unfortunately, there was no way to go back other than to click the back button on my browser. When I went back, the comment I had written (it took me quite a while to research and type out) was gone. The "Comments" field was simply empty as if I was visiting the site for the first time and was about to write a new comment.

If there were a way to go back through the data that my computer sent to that website when I clicked "Post" and decode it so that I could at least copy and paste the text of my comment and put it somewhere else, that would save me a lot of time and effort. I appreciate all tips anyone might have!

There is no way to retrieve your lost comment. This is why I compose longer comments, responses, etc, in Notepad before posting.
