Title: XP and NT hooked up together?
Post by: associates on January 19, 2006, 09:04:23 PM
Hi,

I've got a question. I've two machines here. One is running XP Pro and the other one is NT workstation. Because i'd like to make the NT one as a backup machine for my XP. I'd like to connect them together. I haven't done this yet and probably shouldn't be posting before trying it out. ;D Anyway, Just wanna check with you expert people first so My question is would it be alright to do that?

Thank you in advance

Sure you can hook them together. Are you plannning on using a router, a crossover cable or what? What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Thanks GX1_MAN for your reply.

That's great. What i'm trying to accomplish here is that since the NT workstation computer hasn't been used much for a while and thinking that i may use it to back up some files from my XP laptop. So, it's Mainly for a backup purpose. :)

Thanks
