Title: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_ (iaStorAC.sys)
Post by: Jokniserous on December 11, 2019, 04:14:10 AM
My laptop crashes occasionally with the error message in the title.  HP Notebook 15, recently had a new SSD installed (but this error was happening before the SSD when the laptop had an HDD).

Thanks,
Jokniserous

Download BlueScreenView:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
when scanning is done, go to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next reply

There as a Windows 10 update version 1903 which caused problems with some computers running Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST): The inbox storage driver iastora.sys doesn’t work on these systems and causes stability problems on Windows. Check with your software/driver provider for an updated version that runs on this version of Windows."
This was fixed with August 30, 2019—KB4512941 (OS Build 18362.329)
I would check windows 10 is completely up to date. Or un install Intel Rapid Storage Technology
As you have upgraded to an SSD some things to check

If your laptop has ProtectSmart installed then un install it.
From HP
Before you move the PC, HP recommends that you either shut it down or initiate Sleep or Hibernation. However, in the event that the PC is shaken or dropped not in Sleep or Hibernation mode, ProtectSmart will park the hard drive to attempt to prevent damage. ProtectSmart protects your hard drive by using a device to measure movement called accelerometers that are placed inside your PC. This software removes power to the ssd which isn't a good idea with an ssd
