Title: remote computer software through network

I'm trying to find remote computing software before I go on a trip to alabama and the most important thing is accessing through my home network. is there any software that can go through the network and to my computer?

even though I hate admitting to a smart alec, I found a solution after reading about port forwarding on the site of the software. thanks, i guess.

Have you looked at PortForwardDotCom (http://www.portforward.com)? Unless your router is pretty obscure there's almost certain to be a ready made "recipe" for RealVNC and similar.
A small tip - For successful port forwarding, you really need to set up static IPs.

If this is XP to XP, can't you just use the built-in 'Remote Assistance' feature rather than VNC.

Sure there are limitations with it though.
