I hope someone can help me with this. I keep two Xcel files; one for electric consumption and the other for my bank account. Everytime I entered for example $330.00 in my bank account it would only enter $330. I had to manually enter the two zeros. I did something in formatting the cells to add the two zeros and now when I try to enter my elective consumption it goes into each cell as a currency number with a decimal and two digits. I tried to right-click the cell and select General but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this?

Instead of selecting General, select Number. It will then allow you to decide how many decimal places to use. If you only want the number and no decimal places, set the number of decimal places to 0. Additionally, you could select custom and then use 0 as the pattern which means no decimal places.

I tried that with no success. The only thing that works is if I select the cell with a number in it and select "Replace" and enter the same number with no decimal point. It's also strange why changing one method in a worksheet will change the method in another worksheet.

Hi Dave
On any of your worksheets click on the file tab. On the left click the options. (These are universal options affecting ALL worksheets) Select Advanced. In the editing options make sure “Automatically Insert Decimal Point" is Unchecked. This may solve your problem.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, my 2002 version of Xcel does not have that option.

Thanks Term_ite. I just had to reverse engineer the sheet and it worked well.
