Title: Using Firestick on a projection TV
Post by: jbubb on May 29, 2021, 03:37:17 PM
I purchased a DVI to HDMI converter and do get access to the Firesticks channels. The problem is, I can't get sound. I thought I might be able to get it through a video recorder I have but no luck. I swapped some red/white/yellow RCA jacks but still no luck. Any ideas from anyone?

DVI does not support sound so if the projector doesn't have HDMI and the Firestick doesn't support separate audio, only Audio thru HDMI the 2 units won't work.
If the projector has composite video then this unit may work.

I like the idea, but don't know exactly where to place them. There are multiple RCA jack ports on my TV.

Lisa_maree, I've mulled over the device you suggested and unless it carries video and audio, I'm not sure it would work. It says you can use a firestick but I've got a DVI to HDMI hooked up just to get video from a firestick. As I stated, unless it does what I mentioned above, I don't see how I can use everything together.

I guess I waited too long to edit my post. I got to thinking or trying to anyway and realized that all three RCA jacks do carry video and audio. The red and white jacks carry audio and the yellow jack carries video ... I think?
