Title: Cannot Establish Stable Wifi Connection

Laptop OS: Windows 10 x64
Version: 10.0.15063 Build 15063
Model: HP Stream Laptop 14-ax0XX
Processor: Intel N3060
Connection: Wireless
Router make/model: CenturyLink C4000XG
Network adapter: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265

Now I am not exactly sure on the type of internet that is used here. I am not experienced in network troubleshooting and configuration. I am confident it isn't cable and I think it may be DSL when looking at the connection from the outlet to my router.

The internet is provided within the apartment complex. They are new and modern. We just use our own routers. The internet speed is great wirelessly and when hard wired it is extremely fast. I have several devices connected throughout the apartment including the bedroom. I'm using the laptop fairly close to the router (within 8 ft or so). I cannot get the laptop to connect wirelessly for very long.

When I attempt to connect to wifi, it will momentarily connect for 15-20 and then disconnect. This usually happens about every 60-120 seconds. Sometimes it won't connect at all when attempting to do so.

Now this where it gets weird. The laptop connects just fine to the internet wirelessly at my parents house and none of my other devices have any trouble connecting wirelessly at my place. The laptop is the only device that can't seem to establish a stable connection. Does anyone know what in the heck is going on or have any suggestions? Any suggestions on resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

Things I have tried:
1. Resetting the Router and restarting laptop
2. Turning off firewalls (Virus protection is native)
3. Changing power management settings in network adapter properties (unchecked 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power')
4. Factory reset
5. Resetting network adapters.
6. Checked for driver updates in settings. (Everything seemed good and no missing devices)

I did mess around with some Ipv4 network setting but it didn't fix my problem so I reset the network settings to defaults. I thought maybe it has something to do with bandwidth or the access point? I just don't understand why it connects elsewhere but not here. I am thinking about buying an ethernet adapter because I can't seem to identify the problem.

Thanks for taking the time to review the information I have submitted. I know this post is long but I wanted to be thorough.

Note: This is the second time this has happened when using the laptop. This problem has also occured when living at another location using the same router but the provider may be different than what the apartment uses. Thought this info may be important

I can't explain why your laptop works flaky with your router, it could be that the wifi adapter is simply not compatible with your router.
