Title: Outlook 2003 with series of odd errors
Post by: ThomD on March 28, 2006, 10:24:34 AM
I have Outlook 2003 (11.8010.658) SP2.  It has worked absolutely fine and then all of a sudden it has begun to work very oddly.  For instance if I open up a contact, the cut and paste (Ctrl V & Ctrl X, etc) don't work.  The drop down menus drop down but nothing registers when you click on a command.  If I highlight a command and then do a Return, then it works.  Otherwise the only way to come out and save the changes is to click on the white cross on the red background in the top right hand corner when it asks whether you want to save the changes - that part works.  The same applies to e-mails (for instance if I open up a message and then click on Resend Message, nothing happens (and to my knowledge there is no other way of doing this).

The first sign of a problem occurred when I opened up Outlook and a sort of 'ghost' page of Word opened at the same time.   I have run 'Detect and Repair'; no improvement.

I have uninstalled Office completely and reinstalled it; no change.  I have set up a new Profile; no change.

I have also run Scanpst.exe which repaired an unspecified number of errors but which has not solved the problem, and the 'ghost' remains.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
