can someone please help me? I hope this is the right forum. my typesetter is complaining because I sent her a 290 page document in rich text format, and she said they were 290 single files. she wants me to send that document, (manuscript), in one large file. How do I do that? I have windows xp. I think she has a macintosh. any advice would be greatly appreciated. :-?

I don't have a clue but try this:
Open the .rtf file with Wordpad then save the file in .txt format.
Good luck

Eek - don't do that! Your paragraph breaks will be completely screwed up, and any formatting you want to retain (advisory to your typesetter) will be lost.
Please advise: what program are you composing your document in? What program is your typesetter using?

As an aside to this - If you regularly move data between a Windows and a MAC box, Stuffit (http://www.stuffit.com/win/index.html), the dé facto MAC archiver, is available in Win32 flavour.
