Backdated's famous anti-virus post has gone missing! This thread is a replacement for that immortal post. Feel free to reply to this; add onto it, please. I only remember part of it.

Tools to download

CCleaner (http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/) for removing caches, temporary internet files, and other junk nobody uses.

SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) to protect your system from spyware.

AboutBuster (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/aboutbuster.html) to get rid of the HomeSearchAssistant parasite

HijackThis (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html) to eliminate hijackers and leftover traces of viruses - download and install to it's own folder!

Killbox (http://www.scancomplete.com/download/killbox/) to delete those viruses that just won't go!

Panda (http://www.pandasoftware.com/) - a decent AntiVirus software.

That's all I can remember for now. Add on to it!

I could be wrong, but didn't he also have Spybot Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/) and Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/) in the list?
