Title: Graphics Card Upgrade?
Post by: Dumbazz on May 17, 2006, 03:46:45 PM
Hello,I just stepped up to a LCD monitor (Samsung 730B).I have it hooked up analog.I went to this because when I installed Google Earth it said my old monitor did not have enough pixels. However when I zoom in it is still very blurry.

My system is a Gateway,Athlon 1G,512MB of pc133ram,NVIDIA GeForce MX/MX 400 with 32mb of ram.
My question is how much better/clearer would this setup be if I stepped up to a better graphics card? Also which one under a $100 would be a good one to go with?Preferably under $75.I don't do any gaming I just want the Google earth to be clearer. Thanks

You seem to meet the system requirements already:

You can find plenty of cards under $75 that will be a major upgrade from your current card.  For example, take a look at the AGP cards being sold by TigerDirect (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?page=2&Nav=|c:318|&Sort=0&Recs=10).
