Title: HELP! Stop errors!
Post by: andrewthompson on May 31, 2006, 10:45:38 AM
I read a few of the start up problems other people are having. My is a little diffrent.

My computer starts up normally, until it gets to the "Starting windows" black screen. But the thing is, it doesn't get to it, it just sits there. I can try pressing spacebar, sure, that works. But I doesn't let me use my mouse...
Its very wierd.

I've had this problem alot, and I'm afraid I'm going to have the Blue Screen Stop Error very soon. I've already had it, I just formatted.

here is what my event log has to say...

"Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Speed Disk service service to connect. "

"The operation on timed out (time out is configurable via the registry). "

"The device sent an incorrect response(s) following a mouse reset. "

"Could not set the keyboard indicator lights. "

"Could not set the keyboard typematic rate and delay. "

"The GBPoll service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action."

"The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block. "

Andrew:

Are you using a USB mouse (with a rectangular connector) or a PS/2 mouse (with a round connector)?

Is this a new mouse?

Have you installed the drivers for the mouse from the CD that came with it?

Is this Windows XP or some other operating system?

Andrew:

Buy a PS/2 or USB mouse without an adapter and use that one instead.
