I have a laptop, I installed AOL and have an excisting account with them and then just use my dial tone from home to connect to the internet it gives me a message saying "we were unable to connect, check your connections, cable" Ive tried it at somebody elses house also and still not getting a internet connection? does anybody know why? and if its the actual connection on the laptoP?

Contact AOL by phone. They will walk you through it step by step. They do this thousands of times a day for customers.
