OK, so I have never done this before. Actually, for the first time ever, I will be running two pcs at home. That's because I decided it's not worth having anything that's not gaming-oriented on a gaming pc so I will have one for gaming, and one for all the rest, MS office, internet, dowloading stuff, etc.

right from scratch: please give me some advice on how to setup a network, basically to share the internet connection where the gaming pc should be prioritary.
*note* I need to share the same connection with the xbox 360, as well.

for y'all: upper-left corner says Im a nub, which is true, so pleeeeeeeeease. any advice will be illuminating.

Access that Router by using 192.168.1.1.

You probably need to do a hard reset because it'll still have my data on it. Use the reset button on the back, then configure it the same way the ISP told you to configure your computer when connecting to the modem.

As far as I know, you can not give the gaming pc "priority".  But, that should not be an issue.  Just avoid downloading large files with the other computer if you're gaming online with the gaming PC.

You can if the router supports QoS...

It doesn't, I used to own it so don't worry. It's a Qtec 4 ports router ;D

Thanks for the feedback.  I wasn't sure if I'd pitched it right.

You know that Raptor has installed all sorts of rogue hacks into that router, that will steal your identity and all your household possessions, right?   ;D

But that's not a "normal router". It is a keylogging, identity theft router, n'est pas?
