Title: graphics problem
Post by: LoneWolf431 on December 19, 2006, 04:14:44 PM
well looks like i need help again.
i bought a Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card

Min. Req.

>AMD Duron processor - got that
>128MB system RAM - got that
>mother board with alvaible PCI slot - got that
>50MB of available hard disk pace - i have over 20 GB of space left
>CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive - got that
>WINDOWS Me - got that
>VGA compatible monitor - got that

i did what the instructinos said on how to install it on my COMPAQ persario 5000.
Everything went well until it said "this OS is not compatible with the drives u have" i didnt understand why it wasent installing. Then i found a note saying i have to enter my BOIS and switch the Primary disply adapter to PCI, not VGA so i can configure my PNY Verto PCI graphics card as the primary display adapter. i went to my BIOS but i couldent find anything. so im stuck with a really good graphics card that i cant even use to play any games with.
 plz help.

LoneWolf431........ It sounds to me as if you havent disabled your onboard vid display in the bios ........... I think you will find that once you do this and at the same time make sure PnP is enabled in the bios that the new vid card should be seen .

You must change your 'Primary Video Adapter' in BIOS to (PCI).

I must take a momentary break............SNAP!...OK I'm back! ;D

I just can't believe that you would use Windows to control this.

I think 'Do not use item (disable)' in Device Manager may work
at the display adaptors what does it show 2 video cards? This
may work but..........Seems strange.

Edit:Are you still with us? :-?I could slowly drift into my state
of madness....BwaHaHaHa!
