Title: XBox 360 sees only one drive on my computer...
Post by: vicious739 on February 03, 2007, 08:23:45 AM
I am such a noob, so if this is in the wrong place or a stupid question, I apologize ahead of time. Anywhoosles, I have my XBox 360 connected to my router, and my PC connected to my router, and the XBox 360 allows me to connect and stream music, pictures, and video from my computer, however, the only files it shows are those that are located on my default C drive in My Documents. Unfortunately, I store most everything on a seperate drive that has much, much, much more space, and that is where all my music, pictures, and videos reside. My actual My Documents folder contains nothing. Is there a way to make my documents point to a different drive? Or default to another drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right click the My Documents folder and change it's target to point to where you want it to be.
This won't move anything in the original folder though.
Is that what you're looking for?

That did the trick. Now the only setback is that most of my videos are DivX and the XBox isn't recognizing them. Probably have to switch em over to WMV. Thank you though, that really helped.

You're welcome, happy to help.
Not sure if the XBox can recognize DivX, it may be impossible.
Try using TVC (http://www.effectmatrix.com/total-video-converter/) to convert them to WMV.
It's shareware though, so you'll have to pay after a while (15 days I think) and it leaves a watermark at the top of the video.
If you want something completely free, use Super C (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html).
However, I've had issues with this not being able to convert files properly.
Hopefully it'll work for you though.
Hope that helps too.
