A friend gave me a DELL DIMENSION 4500. Worked fine until he added RAM. Now when you power on I get 3 beeps, fans come on but No video output, Can't get into BIOS. I changed video card to a Connect3D Radeon 7000 / 64MB DDR / AGP / 4X. and put PC2700 256MB RAM. Same Problem. Can you tell me where to get detailed info on motherboard or what problem might be?

Can a moderator please move this?
Thanks.
Take out the RAM he added - does it work without the extra RAM?

He left the RAM out. (computer had no RAM in it when I got it) I put the PC2700 256 MB RAM in. I think? it's the right RAM, and the RAM worked when I took it out of another computer.

To find out the correct RAM enter that MBoard info at crucial.com or barring that read the owners manual...
All RAM is not equal.

Just because it fits in the slot is NOT enough. ;)
This will make it easier:

I think that SDRAM is not match your processor
thus , replace it with DDRAM :-/

I have a similar problem at the moment.
My Dell Inspiron 6000 started to freeze. I turned it off manually and then when i tried turning it back on the noise came on, the green lights went on but no visual display and within 5 seconds everything is gone. After about 15 or so attempts it comes back on but usually freezes again within a few minutes. I haven't added any new hardware and rebooted the cpu but the problem is still persisting. Any help would be very much appreciated
