i dunno if this is the right forum, its kinda confusing for some topics..
when i download music, and then go to find it to play it, i usually arrange it by date, to easily find whats new.
however, for some reason, my music ( and maybe other files, dunno) has had all of their dates and times changed. my pc clock seems to be fine, however.. any thoughts?
and no, i'm not talking about a few days.. i mean like a few years, i have a few songs that now say 1994, when i've only had this pc for a year

Desktop or laptop? Virus and spyware protection? Put something new on there and check the date tomorrow?

Are you downloading older music? Possibly the year is changed on it because it was the year it was made.

Now...have the dates changed on music files that were already on your computer? For example: did you have a song that originally said 2004 but now says 1994? Or is it only for new music that you're downloading? Sometimes, whoever you download music from will encode files with the wrong dates. What music player do you use? Most will let you change the release the dates of music files.

ok, sorry
win 98 desktop, i use avg for my random virus checks. and yes, its music that is already on my pc.. when i right checked it before, it showed the date created( aka date downloaded).. now, it shows some other random date.. its only recently that this has happened.. to be honest, no , its not a big deal, just kinda freaking me out
i use winamp, btw, and i dont edit my mp3 tags or w/e

ok, think i figured it out.. but for some reason, its rearranging them by the date they were "modified", instead of created.. how do i change this back?
dont know how they got modified in the first place
