Title: Constant popping/crackling in Sound
Post by: Boother on April 26, 2007, 06:37:35 PM
Hi everyone, I have been experiencing a problem with my speakers. After 4-5 minuites of use on my computer, a crackling and popping sound occurs (constantly and it is annoying as heck). At first I thought it was the speakers, but after getting a new set; the problem persisted. Now we think that it is the sound card that is causing all of the poblems but we can't sure. If anyone else has had this problem and knows weather or not it is the sound card (or know what it really is, it would be much appreciated.)

I am currently using:
-Sound blaster Audigy 2 ZS [C880] sound card
-Altec Lansing speakers.
-Windows Xp

Has it always been this way? If not, what has changed?

i can't tell you, or be sure, sometimes if you have a cell phone or something like that near your speakers, that can cause it.

but i'll tell you this, once upon a time i had an audigy, and same problems occured, didnt bother me as much, but it did happen. audigys suck.

To test your sound card theory, try using a set of headphones instead.  They're not nearly as likely to be affected by outer interference.  But it could also be a problem with your speaker jack.  Do you have a jack in front that you can try?
