All of you FireFox users (and there is a lot of us), today the next update for the 2.0 branch was released. Firefox 2.0.0.4 is available for download, and brings several important fixes. On the Windows side, several changes were made to Windows Vista support, though there are still a few unresolved issues such as a slightly broken IE7 migration and no WMP integration. Five security fixes have been included for all platforms, only one of which was rated critical, and a few other minor changes have been included. You can read the details in the 2.0.0.4 release notes, or you can just download it.

Yeah, I downloaded it yesterday. Then I had to update the other 3 on my other flash drives and my other computers...which was irritating...

Got it yesterday, with FileHippo's update checker.
Very useful tool, that.
BTW, Java doesn't seem to be compatible with the 2.0.0.4 release yet, but I've noticed no other problems.

Why would updating be irritating ? ?
Prefer no updates ? ?
I don't get it.

You're talking about the portable version, right? Is it usually updated at the same time the regular version is updated?
-
No, not the protable version. I just copied the program files for Firefox onto my flash drive and it can be run from there, although I can't keep a custom theme.
Can you do that wil the portable version?

That's the whole idea behind portable FireFox...you can take your bookmarks, extensions and themes wherever you go...

I'm surprised it will run that way. A normal installation of Firefox adds some entries to Windows registry. Apparently, those entries are not critical to running Firefox. Nevertheless, I'll use the portable version if I want to run it on a flash drive, for the reasons patio mentioned.

Right, yes. I'll get that then. It would help a lot fo keep all my themes, addons and stuff.
Thanks for the link patio.

Actually i'm surprised it is running that way as well...even if it does each time you use it on another machine you are leaving behind remnants on whatever machine you run it on...kinda defeats the purpose of Portable FireFox.

I updated my firefox t the 2.0.04. I also use Mozilla T-bird for my email. Does anyone know why I can no longer access t-bird from my tools menu in Firefox?
