Title: Google earth server login failed
Post by: Titan01 on August 23, 2007, 09:08:57 AM
every time I open Google Earth I have to wait for a server login message to go, but then I get a alert message telling me: we were unable to login to the server to activate your account. For info on how to solve the problem would you like to run a diagnostic test? .etc.

after running the test it told me I had virus detectors running so I disabled all of them and it tells me the same thing. So what's going on here?

pretty much the same thing happens when I try play Party Poker, and some free multi player games won't update because of server connection difficulties.

What type of Internet connection do you have ? ?
Try unplugging the modem for a minute or so then plug it back in and wait around 3 minutes for it to re-set...
If you have a router do the same for it.

broadband wired. I use a Zyxel Prestige 600 router.

I've actually tried this a few times. My connection has a habit of switching off for no reason so I usually have to reset it at least once a day.
I tried it again with no luck.

this is still open if anyone's interested.

I should probably add that I'm having a few other problems connecting to other servers too, like Java downloads. In that instance, it only happens when I'm downloading from a program on my PC, like an upgrade for Java, or an mmorpg that requires an upgrade to play. They all tells me that I can't connect to the server.

Do you have a firewall program installed ? ?
If so check to see what is being blocked.
If not is this a recent development ? ?

You may want to DLoad install and run Hijack This...save the log as a text file and post it in the Virus and Spyware section here...

Note:Do not let it fix anything until you have been advised here...
