Hi
Can anyone help?
I have just fitted a new motherboard gigabyte 7VM333m-RZ, AMD 2400+ Sempron and 512MB ram and a DVD writer to my system, but windows 2000 boots up and I am unable to use the mouse or keyboard in the windows environment. There is no cursor at all.
The keyboard work as I can use it to get into the bios and to set windows to go to safe mode but the same happens there.
I do get an error message which is
“Run Dll. Error loading c:\winnt\downloaded program files\ bridge.dll The specified module could not be found.”
Because the mouse or keyboard doesn’t work I can’t get rid of the message.
Also after this is finds new hard ware and then sticks on new hard ware screen, asking you to load drivers for the new DVD writer.
I hope this is enough info for someone to help me
Thanks
Andrew

Did you correctly connect the flat ribbon cables that lead to the PS/2 ports?
Does the keyboard work before you load Windows? (IE, in the BIOS or during Windows setup)

Windows was all ready on the hard drive and the PS2 connector are on the motherboard.
Thanks for you reply

Try using somebody else's mouse?
-
See if the mouse and/or keyboard require any specific drivers.
-
I have tried two other mice and keyboards and also ran the repair of windows 2000, which didn't work. I have also run the hard drive on another computer and that didn't work also.
I am going to run the drive as a slave on an XP computer to check for spyware and viruses.
I hope this works

Insure that the proper drivers for that mainboard for NT/2K/XP are available. I have seen this sort of trouble with NT4 due to poor support of USB ports, but not with PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports.
Also make sure nothing such as 'legacy' or 'interrupt support' is disabled for the PS/2 KB and mouse ports.

Run Dll. Error loading c:\winnt\downloaded program files\ bridge.dll = a trojan>>> scan for this and any anything else...also what is possible with your problem>mouse/keyboard is your graphics card...try re-seting it...

Thanks everyone
I have reconected the hard drive back into the old computer where it can from, but it still is getting the same problem.
The other thing I have noticed is that the keyboard lights "num Lock" is on but I can not turn it off by pressing the key, when you press "caps lock" the light doesn't come on. This looks like to me that the ports are not active when windows is running.
How can I turn these on when you have no interface with the computer?
Help!!!

I resolved this by repairing windows 2000 on the drive, this reinstalled the proper drivers. The drive was cap also so I have installed windows xp on the extra space so I have duel boot. :D
