Title: help building a gaming pc
Post by: Elxtronic on September 07, 2007, 10:53:20 PM
Im thinking of building a new computer and would like some help in deciding which parts I should get
I was thinking of getting this CPU (http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2643933&CatId=2758), these two RAM (http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3079597&CatId=2368) sticks, and an nForce 680i motherboard (what is the difference between the A1 (http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2945260) and T1 (http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2945261&CatId=2014) versions of the board?)

I also need help on deciding whether or not I should get two of these (http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3048552&CatId=1558) or a single 8800?

I am using tigerdirect to shop for these items because there is a store close by

My advice will cost you nothing   :D

motherboard - the 2nd*  T1 board you like is excellent, "lifetime warranty"!   Like their GPU's*  graphis cards, they have  the best warranties  in the tech buying Industry (BFG-too ! <  )    for  pc's...

Ram * no.  buy the HQ   sticks of G-skill here:
 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231114

 cpu*  ???    ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I would (still)  get this cpu >  E6600    ( U can oc to almost 4!)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115003

most people will say Buy*  A quad  card...
maybe but   I still would wait for the new cpu releases on this chip first before attempting a new build*   The Penryn  chip   ?  spelling ?

the best bargain  Mobo right now with a built in Creative Hi-Fi sound card .. + 75.00 !s this which I would buy*

 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130080

"Buy"  the way ..........  tigerdirect s OK* But newegg if the product is there or  a reasonable alternative,  usually gives  a buyer a much better price* +
If you been here  awhile and know about quit asking questions and  do a  "google" search first*   9 times out of 10,  you will find an answer !

Reading about all the stuff you want to spend/ purchase  money on.......Helps

GPU _ ANY*  8800 ( Nvidia)  series ....   with  640 of ram  * get one  1 #  card  .........  its too expensive to run SLI  dual cards  so,  get the highest rated 8800 card you  like....

Best Luck
