Title: Reformated Hard Drive; New Install; Need Network Controller driver now
Post by: bunbun008 on October 12, 2007, 05:41:36 PM: I formated hard drive on Toshiba, Portege 7000ct laptop, and installed win 2000, but can't connect to internet-lack of driver for network controller. Everest Home is attached. Not sure what other drivers I need so help would be appreciated. I can not do ms updates and can't download svs pack for win 2000. :'( I have a red! at network controller!

Do you have a Toshiba CD labeled drivers ? ?
If so re-install the MBoard drivers and that should do it.

This is what you need driver for. Probably Intel web site would be the best place to find it.

I keep getting messages that my AGP is disabled and ASPI is not working. Are there drivers for these as well? :'( :'(

Should I uninstall the device? Or try finding driver? :(

What do you mean by, they won't work?
How did you install them?
You download this:
Controllers, Intel® 82550 Fast Ethernet Controller, Intel® 82558 32-bit PCI Bus LAN
It comes in self-extracting ".exe" file.
You run it, then you go to Device Manager, right click on "network controller" (that one with "!"), and click "Update driver".
Windows can't find it, or what's the story?

I'm not sure, but I think, it has something to do with your CD/DVD drive.
Where is it listed in your Everest?
