???Hello. I have a question, please. I have been using computers for about 5 years. I started out on WINME and basically learned them by going to forums and asking a lot of questions and researching info and making my own information folders.
A friend has a DELL...I have an AOPEN now with WIN2000; their hard drive up and died and it was barely a year old. I had "save to disk" on ME but there is nothing on 2000 that says that. How are you supposed to put something on a disk to save it on this OS?
I would think there should be a way, but I cannot find any info that tells me that. I have pics of my grandkids on here that I would like to know were secure......I am very careful and have a good security system with my ISP. But you never know what can happen eh?
Any comments would be helpful
Thanks in advance

Your question is a little hard to understand ??? What is it exactly you are trying to do? Usually, when you want to 'save' something, you can do the keyboard commands (Ctrl + S) and that will bring up a dialog box asking where you want to 'save' your work. The application being used has a 'Save' option under "File".

Are you talking about viewing files via Windows Explorer or what? Are you talking about a specific program?
Are you familiar with Windows Explorer? It's the tool to use to view files of all types in a folder. From Explorer, you can select files to be copied to floppy disk. This is true for all versions of Windows.

Lets see if I can explain myself. I have several things I have on hardrive eh? I want to put them on a seperate cd to save them. Like I said WIN ME had 'save to disk" on it.....WIN ME doesn't have that option........well this one doesn't have it anyway
So if I wanted to put my pics or whatever on a cd and save it...how would I do that? Is this any clearer? I know XP does this and probably VISTA. I don't have them and not planning to get them any time soon .
Thanks..

I believe you meant to say Win 2000 doesn't have that option, right?
Now, I understand you want to burn files to a CD. Right? Do you have burning software, such as Nero or Roxio, installed? I'm not a Win 2000 user, so let's see whether some Win 2000 users can chime in here.
I still think it would be helpful if you can state EXACTLY where "WIN ME had 'save to disk" on it.." Again, are you referring to a Windows Explorer window or a window in some application installed in your computer?
To open Windows Explorer, right click on Start and select Explore.
