Title: Civilization 1

i recently got the classic game civ 1
but when i go to "CIV.EXE" to start the game, i get this message:

16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
        C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.                  The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS  and Microsoft Windows applications.

I don't know what this means or how i can solve my problem.  If you have an answer, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post it for me.  Thank you.

I think that means civ is to old to run on your system.

EXCELLENT DOS emulator. Works with almost every DOS game, even on XP.

Hey, I got quoted! Civ 1 was also for the Amiga... you could try using an Amiga emulator to play the game. I found that's sometimes easier than messing around with DOS. DOSBox doesn't always work with some games.

Or you could try buying Civ 2 or 3! Loads better.

Ok. We've had a similar problem like this one..... Go to Mircrosoft.com , and type in 16bit windows subsystem..... they have a page somewhere inside, that has thew solution...
