Title: Keyboard problems
Post by: seanj on January 03, 2008, 05:09:16 PM
Hi, I recently had to wipe my computer, removing partitions, etc.

Using the CD suppplied I reinstalled microsoft XP.  And installed a new version of microsoft office 2007.

My problem is this: some of the buttons on my key board have changed place. For example to get the @ symbol I now have to press shift and the 2 button, even though according to the markings on my keyboard this should be ". Also my alt gr button no longer functions as alt gr - quite fustrating as I live in Ireland and use the euro sign alot.

Have I used the wrong driver for the keyboard?? Is it a problem with office 2007??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Sean

It depends what keyboard layout you want.

US keyboard:

UK keyboard:

Yes what Broni said...
In order to change the layout goto the control panel and double click Regional and Language Options.
Select the Languages tab and press Details....
Press the Add... button and select your Input Language and Keyboard Layout. If the keyboard was bought in Ireland I believe the correct settings would be English (Ireland) and Irish respectively.
After you've installed a new input language you can Remove the existing. You may need to reboot in order to complete the removal.
