Hello,
IE 7 will not allow me to do anything that requires a password. I can't use hotmail, netflix, ebay, amazon, etc. I can get on the page and navigate around, but after I enter my user name and password and click enter, I get a page that says "Internet Explorer Cannot Display This Page."
Interestingly, I can access my work e-mail, so entering information into dialog boxes doesn't seem to be a problem. I ran a diagnostic and it said for me to check several ports - FTP, HTTPS, and HTTP (I think). I thought I made them exceptions to the blocking. I don't know if this is a firewall problem or what. It's really bizarre, and I don't know a thing about computers. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thank you!
Megan

Will Firefox work with password boxes?
-
Okay, I downloaded firefox, but I can't get it to connect to the server. The message says if your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure firefox is permitted to to access the web. So, I went to the Windows Firewall and added it as an exception, but still nothing. So, I have no idea if firefox will work with password boxes.

What type of internet connection do you have?
What is your firewall?
Are you connected through a router? Hard-wired, or wireless?
-
I have cable internet, windows firewall. I'm not connected through a router that I know of. There's only one computer in the house, so I'm guessing I'm hard wired without a router. I know it's not wireless.

Turn off your computer.
Disconnect your modem from power source.
Wait 1 minute.
Reconnect power to the modem.
Start computer.
See, if Firefox will connect.
