Title: can't print on photo paper

I have a Canon MP160 printer/scanner.  The printer is very good but I cannot print on photo paper.  I've tried numerous times and each time it prints out just ink and it doesn't dry.  I print on regular paper and it is just fine.
What steps am I missing?

1. Are you printing on the right side of the paper? (the glossy side)

2. Have you adjusted the ink & paper settings so the printer knows it's printing on photo paper?
