Title: how does Maxtor III USB2.0 external harddrive determine what to back up?

how does Maxtor III USB2.0 external harddrive determine what to back up? Does it repeat files that you have moved to another folder, if the files have not been changed, but just moved to better organize the folders, does Maxtor make sure that the file is not duplicated? Similarly, does Maxtor backup every file that you have just "opened to look at" between backup times? If so, is it re backing up that file or what?

Thanks,

suziart

Welcome to the CH forums.

According to the Users Guide (which I understand is available as a file on the drive) you have to select which folders to backup in the configuration section of the drive setup.

Users Guides can be downloaded from here (http://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&q=maxtor+III++download++users+guide&btnG=Search&meta=).

Good luck.
