Title: system restore/recovery

i am looking for a program to reformat the harddrive of my computer. it runs like crap and nothing works properly and the system disks are all broken or missing so i want wipe it out like it was brand new again. can any one tell me where to find such said program.  XD thanx

If your system discs or broken or missing how are you going to reinstall Windows after the format?
Windows install discs can format the drive for you, so since you will need one of those anyway you might as well start searching for them.

i think that is why i asked... is there a program i can download that will allow me to create a restore disk... i was told that yes there is, i asked where i know i have to burn it to a disk as an image, and make a backup registry, but i need a restore program

You never mentioned restore disc in your first post. You merely asked for a program to format your hard drive. Such programs exists but all of them will leave your hard drive completely blank.

I've never heard of software that can create a restore disc out of nothing.
You can get software that creates an image of the the hard drive, allowing you to revert the hard drive back to the saved state at a later point.
Since, as you say it, your computer is running like crap, you don't want to save the current state since that would restore your computer to a state of crap.
Since imaging is not an option, formating and reinstalling Windows is your only option. To do this you will need a Windows install disc. There is no way around this.

Acronis will create an EXACT copy of your hard drive, means:

To have a clean start, you need either Windows CD, or Recovery CD.
There is no other option.

This is why everyone needs a Windows CD sooner or later.
