Well, I have a laptop which was in need of a reboot and reinstalling windows Xp professional.
I have managed to get to the setup, but the biggest problem is still there - I CAN'T TYPE!
I have tried to delete all the partitions and remake them (only did the "C" one first time) but it won't let me and when I leave it it just gets to the setup and won't type anything so I can't enter name or the ID code.
Help please.

Hmm... what is the make and model of the laptop?
Are you using the laptop's keyboard or external keyboard?
Do you have an external keyboard?
-
It's an Acer Aspire 3000
Internal keyboard and I don't have an external one.
-
Have you installed XP professional before on that machine?
-
It came with it installed, so no.
But I followed all the instructions on the help site (this one)

Did the XP disc you're using come with the laptop?
If not is it perhaps an *ahem* version of XP?
-
Came with laptop.

I suggest you borrow a keyboard from someone and try that.
The XP setup should be loading your keyboard all on its own... can't really tell you why it doesn't.

Came with laptop.
What exactly does it say on the lable of that CD ? ?
