Title: computer will only start up in safe mode
Post by: lstickle33 on February 23, 2008, 07:28:22 AM
Okay my computer was running fine last night and this morning when I turned
it on it just sat there with the black mircrosoft sceen and would not open up
the blue screen with users on it. It would also not shut down either. I did
manual turn it off and when the screen came up I opened it in safe mode.
Which it will run on, but I did try and restart it and it froze again on the
black screen.
Anyone have any advice or know whats causing this? And anything I can do to
fix the problem? We just go a new hard drive about a year ago, so I hope
thats not it...
Thanks for any help out there!!!!

Why dont you try repairing your OS. If you have your windows xp cd, try to boot first from cd rom. Insert your xp cd then select the repair option.

System restore should work in safe mode. What does it do when you try to use it?
