Title: CAN'T ACCESS CONTROL PANEL
Post by: brand on March 05, 2008, 06:33:28 PM
I have an HP Pavilion m7580n which runs on Windows XP. For a couple months now, after downloading some songs, when I try to get to the control panel I get a message that says I can't do so without administrator approval. Don't have an administrator. It's my own desktop computer and I'm not an a network.

Sounds like malware has taken up residence on your computer.

Try to login in safemode and check if you can access the control panel...

if you have a username and password everytime you login to windows...

remove the user account in safemode then reboot the computer and login in normal mode then create a new user account with admin rights
